The standard Edge engine is a turbocharged four-cylinder option that manages to make 250-horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. There is also the more performance-oriented ST trim level. In this version, Ford goes with a twin-turbo V6 making 335-horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque.
With the standard engine underneath the hood, the Edge gives you a responsive eight-speed automatic transmission. If you opt for the ST with its V6, you will get a seven-speed automatic instead. That engine is also exclusively paired with all-wheel drive.
